Congratulations, you got the promotion! You’re now a manager, you have a shiny new job title, an inbox full of emails, a team of people looking to you to lead, motivate and inspire them, and a business looking to you to ensure they deliver.

Woah! Quite a lot to take in, right?

The truth is, management won’t be for everyone, and that’s okay! But for those it is right for, a whole new tool kit and way of thinking is necessary to really thrive.

In this event were joined by Product Design Manager Ian Oliver to discuss how to successfully transition and become a great manager. We talked about how to reprogram yourself to see how you’ll now add a different type of value, how to get out of the weeds of doing so you can focus on the right things, and zoom out to work on and connect the wider ecosystem. And of course, how to manage people in a way that supports them and sees them achieve.

Unfortunately a technical blip  meant this recording stayed focused on our host Laura Baker and you won't see Ian appear - but thankfully all the audio is there and there's a lot of wisdom shared.

Who is this for?

This event is for anyone who has recently or is about to transition into management, aspiring managers, and existing managers who want to blow the dust off the toolbox and be sure everything is still sharp and well oiled.
