Inspired by the desire to better understand how the system in the UK is so broken that mothers can’t afford to go back to work, Fierce and the Fearless Community kicked off a project last year to see how we could use design thinking to better understand and support the challenges faced by working parents everyday in the UK.
Our Discovery and Define phases ran up until Christmas, with the team looking into organisation already working in this space and interviewing parents & HR specialists to build out the story, uncover pain points and key needs across the journey.
A couple of weeks ago we kick started ideation by running a workshop with design leaders from across the industry to start to generate ideas around how we might empower parents to more confidently return to and remain in work.

We have been overwhelmed by the support from everyone that has been following along the journey so far and want to thank our senior design leaders for their time.
